Rooting Students in Their Identity
The self identity discovery process can be confusing, complicated, and even controversial for youth. As Residential Life educators, our role is to engage students in these hard conversations to get them to a place of greater understanding and comfortability with who they are as individuals. Rooting students in their self identity gives them the a greater self-assurance as they launch into emerging adulthood. Combining perspectives from Hawaii to Pennsylvania, this session will unpack some challenges and share strategies for engaging students in the self-identity process.
