VC-1 Paying it Forward: How Mission-centered Programs Can Propel Advancement and Benefit Your Students

This presentation will focus on how to design and fundraise for signature programs, effectively implement them, and how to leverage them to further Advancement Office goals. Through the generosity of an alumnus, Millbrook School launched a summer internship program to support students who have an interest in working for not-for-profit organizations in 2016. In April of 2019, The Edward E. Ford Foundation approved a $250,000 grant for Millbrook on a 1:2 match, thus validating the program and its value. Now called MillbrookEngage, the program, which continued to thrive through the coronavirus pandemic, has proven to be a win-win-win since its inception, benefiting both the students and the organizations that they serve, all while strengthening constituent engagement.
