How Strategic Succession Planning Can Help Improve Gender Representation in CAIS Schools
With a focus on increasing gender diversity in leadership in independent schools, we show that exemplary, inclusive leadership cannot be left to chance, but requires intentional, strategic planning. Fusing academic research on women’s representation in Canadian independent school leadership, and succession planning, this session will explore strategies and barriers to change at the top, including tensions between tradition and innovation, replacement planning versus succession planning, and, the administrative challenges and possibilities inherent in the independent school network.
