VC-2 Homeward Bound: How Hill’s Small Town Investment Created a New Campus Culture

When The Hill launched a bold neighborhood improvement initiative in its post-industrial home of Pottstown, Pa., it hoped the School’s investment would elevate its surroundings by enhancing attractiveness and safety, among other critical outcomes. In five years the results have exceeded expectations, not only by contributing notably to Pottstown’s economic revitalization but by creating palpable pro-community moxie within the School. The changes in Hill’s culture, conscience, and programming have become a compelling draw for new students, faculty, and staff while benefitting town-gown relationships and the School’s financial sustainability.
