F-5 Connecting Intention and Impact for Concrete Changes in Support of Inclusion and Equity
Teachers and schools do not aim to hurt students. How can we bridge the gap from intention to impact to make substantive changes in our programs and curricula so that students feel seen and included? The Black@ Instagram Movement was profoundly awakening. Schools responded at an institutional level. But have those philosophical theories negotiated what we intended students to understand versus what message they walk away with? We will present DEI practices in small, achievable, concrete steps that transcend departments, content areas, and grade levels.
